Adventure Begins

Welcome back crafters. How many of you take adventures during the summertime? Or maybe during the weekends or extended long weekends? Where do you go and what do you do? Ever fly in a hot air balloon? This is a bucket list item for me. One day I'd like to cross it off the list.

Let's Get the Party Started

Welcome back stampers. Today is a wonderful day to celebrate my brother in law, Derek. It's his birthday! Though he is 6 months older than me (ha - I like to remind him of that!) he doesn't look a day older than 29. WINK

Do you see the candles? I cut them out twice. The first in Daffodil Delight and the second in Pool Party. I trimmed the flame part off the Pool Party piece and then glued on top the Daffodil Delight piece.

Lion Love

Welcome back friends. A few days ago I was inspired to create something with the color combination from an outfit I was wearing. Funny huh? Inspiration is in all places! You just never know when it will hit you.

This was my third attempt at water coloring the lion. The colors were bleeding into each other and it wasn't looking pretty. I decided to heat emboss the Basic Black with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and then color. Totally made a "HUGE" difference and I was very happy with the result.

Happiness from a Butterfly

Welcome back crafters. Today I'm CASEing the catalog (Copy And Selectively Editing) again. If you are ever stuck on "What do I create? or Where do I start?" the Stampin' Up! catalog is a great resource. I get some great layouts, color combinations and techniques right out of the catalog. Do not overlook this wonderful inspiration right from Stampin' Up!.

So by now I think most of you (my followers) know that I do not exactly CASE. I change up colors, accessories, stamp sets and so on. If you flip to page 149 you'll see the birthday butterfly card.

I did not make too many changes. I used Silver Stampin' Emboss powder instead of the Gold. I added a second butterfly. The sentiment was changed. Lastly, the ribbons, oh I added many more. Stampin' Up! has added so many ribbons in this catalog and why shouldn't we use more of them together, right?

My favorite combination of gray, purple and yellow.

This may not be a traditional Christmas/Holiday card but I had lots of fun creating it.

Moon and Stars.jpg

I've used the Clear Wink of Stella® glitter brush on the pine trees and on the moon and star to add some "Bling!" I thought about adding Dazzling Diamonds glitter but I know how my husband feels about glitter and especially receiving cards with it. So this was the next best option.
