Welcome back friends! I still cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by. I know many of us say this but time really does fly. I mean here we are Halloween weekend in 2016. Geesh. I don't think I got to enjoy St. Patrick's day. That seems so long ago now. Well moving on and continue to create and making memories.
How many of you create and send Thanksgiving cards? I know I don't send them and maybe make one or two but most are just thank you cards with pumpkins or leaves on them. I couldn't resist recreating my own version of a Thanksgiving centerpiece as the focal point on my next card.
I had heat embossed the pumpkin in clear embossing powder using the watercolor paper. I chose the watercolor paper because of the texture and it was more pleasing to the eye to match up with Very Vanilla. I selectively colored a few flowers/floral filler with Peekaboo Peach and Sahara Sand. The flower image was cut down and added a few slits to have the pumpkin fit on top and overlap. If that made sense. See the photo below. The look I was going for was to have the bouquet of flowers coming out of a carved pumpkin. Wrapped some linen thread around and added a bow. How about the copper accents? We have the metallic thread which was to act as additional decoration in the bouquet and then the polka dot background DSP. Love how it coordinates perfectly with this color combo.
Wouldn't the centerpiece look great on our Thanksgiving tables?
