Ultimate Pink Blog Hop
Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all over the world featuring shades of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I know too many people to name individually and you probably know lots of people too that have been diagnosed. So in honor/loving memory of all those people that are battling, have conquered or have lost, let us continue to spread awareness of early detection and support the fight for a cure.
I have created a friendship tote bag (filled with some Stampin' Up! products) and matching card. I will show you some close ups in case you would like to case them.
The layout of the card is simple using a scrap piece left over from the tote bag. The Moroccan Nights medallion stamp is stamped in VersaMark ink in the background. Adhered a small silver metallic foil doily and then the strip of DSP over it. Stamped the Hey There, Friend in Melon Mambo and cut out using my paper snips. I never glue my pieces until I'm happy with my placement. I took the sentiment piece (cut to the ink - leaving no white space like I generally do) glued it to Basic Black l and cut a slightly larger mat to make the sentiment to stand out from the card base. Since I was using the same color I didn't want it to get lost. Placed a few dimensionals for the actual POP off the card. Lastly to finish the card I placed some (three to be exact) metallic silver enamel shapes (dots).
The tote bag (box bag) was fun to create. Best part is you can make it any size you need! Thank you Kirsteen Gill for your video instructions and measurements they were quite helpful!
I know you cannot see it but I started with a Melon Mambo box base. The Pop of Paradise DSP was my color inspiration.
Don't you like it when your project isn't just pretty on the outside but on the inside too? See those hearts on the inside? Try not get distracted by all the supplies in there. This tote holds a lot and fairly strong for being made out of DSP and card stock.
Stampin' Up! has got great two sided Designer Series Paper packs/stacks that will fulfill your paper crafting needs! Don't forget about the Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale happening this month. More details at the end of this post.
Are you ready for details about the tag hanging off the handle? I had heat embossed the medallion with clear stampin' emboss powder on Basic Black card stock. Once that was completed, I used the Banner Thinlets to cut out a medium size banner. A large metallic silver doily is attached to the back to side to show a little scallop edging. Stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo and cut it out. I chose not to cover the entire banner (after all that work - I don't want to cover it up) and medallion with my sentiment and that is why it's to the left side and a bit crooked. Final touches were threading the white thick baker's twine through one of the holes in the doily then tying a bow and adding some metallic silver enamel shapes (heart and dots).
