Blogging Friends January Blog Hop

Blogging Friends January Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Blogging Friends Blog Hop".

Who are the "Blogging Friends"? We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators located all across the U.S. and Canada who have never met before. Well, actually, we still haven't met yet (in person)... But through our common bond of Stampin' Up! and a shared love of paper crafting, we have created a fun new blog hop. Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created.

Each month we'll have a different theme: this month it's creating with products from the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  We are SO very excited to have a special guest join our blog hop this month!

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2017! I bet most of you, like me slept a little bit later today. Well grab a warm beverage and hop along with my blogging friends and I as we inspire you with projects using the newest products from the 2017 Occasions Catalog.

I chose to use the Lift Me Up bundle and create an interactive card. This is my very first sliding card. Shocker right? I've been crafting on and off for over 20+ years but seriously this is my first one using the Sliding Star framelits. I love that this stamp set had a small enough hot air balloon that I could add on top of the washers.

The Watermelon Wonder hot air balloon swirls around the circle track depending on how you hold the card. I tried to show you different positions it landed and took some more photos. I'm sure a video would have been easier. I'll work on getting one loaded for you. Don't you love the aerial view from the hot air balloons. The trees, houses, streets, all look so small from this angle. The DSP is called Carried Away and it is one of the Sale-A-Bration products that you can get for FREE when you purchase $50 USD (prior to tax/shipping) Stampin' Up! products during January 4 - March 31, 2017.

I have another card for you. This one is using the Cool Treats Suite. For those wishing for summer days or just really love ice cream, these are for YOU!

The Sprinkles embellsihments are great to make shaker cards but I chose to pick out a few to add to the card. You don't need many but be careful they like to stick together and you get A LOT in the container. Just some warning not to knock them or drop them (it will be a BIG mess). I had a bunch all over my hand due to static cling. Ha.

The technique tip I have for you on this card is about the hot fudge. I stamped the image in VersaMark on Chocolate Chip card stock and then heat embossed it with Clear Stampin' Emboss powder. This gave the hot fudge it's shine. I've seen other demonstrators use the Fine Tip Glue for this same look. I just didn't have the patience to wait for the glue to dry.

In case you've never 'done' a blog hop before, its really easy! At the bottom of this post, you'll see another image similar to the one above, and when you click on it, you'll be taken directly to the next blog in the hop. Keep clicking on that image at the bottom of each blog post, and you'll hop through all the participating blogs, back to where you started - and you'll see all the amazing projects and maybe inspire you too! If you'd prefer to hop about at your leisure, you can click on the individual links for each blog. Happy Hopping!

We'd love if you would leave us some comments (aka - Blog Love) to let us know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by today.
