Welcome back friends. I couldn't wait to create another card using the A Little Wild stamp set. If you've been following along you know this is not the first one I have made using the set. This set has images of an elephant, a lion and a bear. (Did you just do what I did? Lions, tigers and bears, Oh my! -- Ha!) I wanted to be able to have a sample of each animal and to say I have loved this stamp set to use all the images.
Check out the Big Welcome card using the elephant. Click here.
Though these cards look like they would be good to use for babies or children, I'm thinking it could be used for anyone. My next card using the bear. Not only did he find something to eat, he also made new friends too!
I wanted to have the hive actually hanging from a tree. At first I tried the Tree builder punch and the tree and bear were practically the same size. So the hive would have looked funny. I then looked at using the Seasonal Layers framelits and the branch looked too thin to hold the hive. Ah! The birds and blooms thinlets had a tree branch with leaves that was going to be the perfect size for the hive. Apparently I went through goldilocks and the three bears sceniros and found the tree branch that was just right. Ha!
The camera didn't do a great job of capturing the spritzing of the sky and grass. Trust me it's there. Just really lightly. The background embossed piece is using the Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder and then using the sponge dauber for some dimension with Crumb Cake card stock and ink.
Still can't see in the photos but the wings of the bees have been colored in with the Clear Wink of Stella® glitter brush. Both the bear and the hive have been colored with the aqua painter a few times with Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede inks.
Creative Color Combination
The bear found food and met new friends.
