Our Thoughts

Our Thoughts

Last week I watched an Instagram live video from the people that were behind the Stampin’ Through the Catalog ( @stampinthoughthecatalog ). I had my suspicions and the truth came out. The concept artists from Stampin’ Up! created a fun way they personally could use the stamp sets differently than what parameters are established to create samples for the catalogs.

I love this idea and had wanted to do this my self or at the least use every stamp set I purchase at least once before it’s retired. So I’m challenging myself along with them. Would you like to stamp through the 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalog to? Let’s challenge each other and get crafty!

Stampin’ Through the Catalog has a Facebook Page where they have informed us what two stamp sets will be featuring next week. Woven Heirlooms (page 14) & Here’s A Card (page 15). If you have these or plan on purchasing them you too can play along at anytime. I own the Woven Heirlooms stamp set, so I figured I could try to create something to play along with their challenge.

The first card (yes I have more that one in this post) I wanted to use the large sentiment about prayers and heartfelt sympathy.

I created a flower to match the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP by using the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape. I also had an “ah ha” moment. The Perennial Essence Floral Centers are yellow and there wasn’t any yellow in the center of the flowers in the DSP. I took my Soft Suede ink pad and Sponge Dauber and colored it. Thankfully it worked out the way I expected. Phew! I embossed the sentiment on Vellum using the Mellow Moss ink and Clear embossing powder.

The next card uses the same stamp set and DSP. I chose to highlight Rococo Rose which is one of the new 2019 - 2020 In Colors.

I colored the Metallic Gold Edge ribbon with the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blend markers which sits atop the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon.
