Blogging Friends November Blog Hop

Blogging Friends November Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Blogging Friends Blog Hop".

Who are the "Blogging Friends"? We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators located all across the U.S. and Canada who have never met before. Well, actually, we still haven't met yet (in person)... But through our common bond of Stampin' Up! and a shared love of paper crafting, we have created a fun new blog hop. Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created.

Each month we'll have a different theme: this month it's all about Fall/Thanksgiving

Where did October go?  How was your Halloween? Did you dress up and go out trick or treating or maybe to a party? My husband and I had dinner and walked a few houses with my niece, brother and sister-in-law.  My niece was an adorable little elephant.

Well we are into November now and I'm so happy to announce to all of you that the Stampin' Blends Markers are available for purchase! I've had them for the past two weeks and I'm loving them. I think you will too!

I used the Light Crumb Cake and Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color the wreath. Pinecones create a fall feel in addition to the leaf DSP. I muted the vibrant colors with a piece of Vellum. The sentiment was heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then I color over it with the Ivory Stampn' Blends marker.

To continue with the Fall theme, I have CASEd this card from Donna Mikasa from Three Umbrellas. I just felt the need to create it Stampin' Up! style. Let me explain the wood paneling background. I took a piece of the Wood Textures DSP and embossed it with the Pinewood Planes embossing folder. At first you couldn't really notice the raised portions and that is when I added the color to have the impressions show through. I ran the Crumb Cake ink pad over the raised sections.

So let me take you through the steps I took to create this card. First I took a piece of Glossy White card stock and used the 'baby wipe'  technique with the following ink refills Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Pumpkin Pie. I dabbed the baby wipe around the card stock to make sure there was no remaining white showing.

Next I stamped the Vintage Leaves with VersaMark ink and covered in Clear Emboss Powder.

Here is the photo of the Clear embossed leaves. I love that it adds the texture to the various colors.

Now it was time to cut the leaves out. Look at those colors. Don't they look almost real?

Have you heard of double heat embossing? Maybe I just made it up but I heat embossed the white dots on the leaves.

Stampin' Blends are not just color on card stock. I colored the White Perfect Accents to match the leaves. Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Bronze were used.
